keeping busy keeping still + kwik, kwek & kwak (video work)
a performance by Fabian Barba,
Marisa Cabal and Tuur Marinus
/ Busy Rocks
Length 29'
In the trio keeping busy keeping still, movement is not
conceived for one body alone, but is produced in the encounter
of the three bodies. Thus the image of the dancer is affected:
not a self-propelled virtuoso but an entity that is being moved
by the impulses or resistances it comes across.
During the representation, this among three is opened up to an
among several when the public is triggered to project
expectations about how a body will respond to a specific
impulse or impact, or to imagine the next possible
constitutions of bodies.
In the video kwik, kwek and kwak weve pictured the
slapstick character of the time we spent in the studio to
develop the first part of keeping busy keeping stills
choreography.
